Introduction to Python Page Views: 41
|
Students will watch a short video that explains what python is and it's uses.
Students will then list 3 facts (in google classroom) about the video, and discuss these facts with the class.
The class will then transition into watching and following a tutorial that teaches students how to import and direct 'turtle' that's listed on Trinket. The actual turtle coding assignment will be entered into Replit because projects are automatically saved. Replit also allows for student collaboration via online. The teacher then will explain to the students how these same commands can be used to instruct a robot or drone.
After the turtle assignment is completed it is saved to help build a student coding portfolio. Each student then shows their activity to class. We then compare and contrast each student's activity.
If we have time we will further develop the coding project. Where students use 'turtle' to create several multicolored shapes at different speeds.
As an assessment, we will have a short five question quiz based on today's lesson (tutorial/activity).
