Items needed:
Green construction paper
Yellow construction paper
Brown construction paper
scissors
pencil
Glue
Decorations: Crayons, markers, stickers, jewels, pom-poms, etc...

Trace the hand print 10 time on the green construction paper. You will then cut all 10 out. Draw or trace a pre-made star (on yellow construction paper) and cut out. Cut out a small rectangle on the brown construction paper for the stump. (NOTE: If child is too small to trace and cut, it is easier if you pre-make these)

Take the green handprints and place 4 down where they slightly overlap on the thumb. (this is the bottom of the tree) Glue them in place. Then take three handprints slightly overlapping on the thumb (glue them in place) and place on top of the previous 4. Then take two handprints slightly overlapping on the thumb (glue in place) and place on top of the previous 3. (glue in place) Then take the final remaining handprint and place on the top of the tree. (glue in place) -it should be noted that all the fingers should be pointed downward. with the widest section at the bottom of the tree (4 handprints) and the smallest at the top (1 handprint).

Glue the yellow star at the top of the tree, and glue the trunk on to the bottom of the tree.

Have your student (or child) decorate with decorations that you choose.
