We will start out by learning about the parts of the DAW or digital audio workstation. Students will learn about connecting audio interfaces into the DAW and selecting inputs and outputs. Students will test out these with partner groups. Students will then practice arming a track for recording and then recording nonsense words with their own voice. Students will take that short audio clip and practice adding effects and seeing what they do. Students will then practice cutting/slicing the audio clip as well in order to help with audio mastering later. Students will then learn about setting the key of a piece for auto tune as well as loops. Students will practice adding a loop and using auto tune on their audio clip. Students will then add a track and a delete a track. Students will then create a loop of a bass line and drum beat. Students will then record themselves playing guitar or piano for a harmonic line. Students will need to adjust clips by slicing and adding effects. Students will then record a vocal line, either singing or rapping, over the instrumental that they have created. Students will then adjust the vocal using auto tune or other effects. They will then save their progress to continue the next day with working on mastering the tracks. |
