Why I need this: Our school library is used for student instruction during class periods, and is also the meeting room for faculty meetings, teacher staff development days and evening meetings with parents. We have a LCD projector on a cart that is unsafe with cords stretched across the floor; and it is also in demand to be shared with classrooms. A ceiling mounted, networked LCD projector in the library would be a safer alternative to the present situation and the projector would be in the library when it is needed. (The LCD projector we now use would be given to a classroom without one.)
Presentations on the big screen are useful for the teacher librarian to instruct students in the use of the library and information literacy (research skills); and also for presentations to the staff or parent groups.
