1. Discuss benefits of garden and its effect on the school as well as the local community. 2. Discuss ways we could involve others in the process and who will benefit from the outcome. (ie donations to local food banks, selling at local markets, etc.) 3. Introduce students to various programs and websites that would be useful to help design and build our garden. Students will use various forms of technology to research plants we can grow, what does best regionally, who we can get to help out, how to get donations and community support. 4. Students will work to design a garden use research obtained. Students will work in groups using various forms of technology to design their garden. Students will be rewarding for using environmental friendly items (recycled, composted, etc). 5. Students will create posters and flyers to distribute to the local community to ask for volunteers, donations as well as promote the sells of items harvested. 6. Students will plant the garden and maintain using technology to determine plant placement, water levels, how to plant to achieve best outcome, etc. 7. Students will maintain and harvest garden 8. Students will work with local community to determine best places to donate harvest. 9. Using technology students will create a spreadsheet to determine areas such as harvest, income, spoilage, etc. 10. Students will run a school fruit/vegetable stand and determine what the success of their garden was. 11. Students will figure out the success and determine what they need to do to plan for next years harvest. |

I will be working with mostly special needs students from severely handicapped to higher level learning handicapped students. We will be using general education students as well. |
