Moments of Great Depression

Day One: Students will define the Great Depression and identify key terms. Students will recognize key figures during the Depression.

Day Two: Students will view a film from United Streaming with pictures depicting life during the Depression. They will identify setting, clothing style, lifestyle changes, and the political role in society.

Day Three - Five: Students will work in groups of ten to create a video timeline of the Great Depression.
Students will create scenes of life for the people during the depression. Students will wear appropriate attire for the time period, and create stage props to mimic communities of that era. Students can role-play interviews of people giving their opinions of what happened to them because of the depression. Each student will play a key role in the development of the video timeline and a rubric will be used. Students will edit scenes, and add music from that time period at different scenes.

Day Six: Share videos with other classes and have questions/answer responses at the end.
