Students are the news anchors of a TV news cast that highlights the various body systems and how to keep each system healthy now as a teenager and also as a lifelong learner.
Each news cast will include:
1. explain the body parts included in the body system
2. explain what we can do to keep that system healthy
3. identify a health condition that can affect that body system and have one group member portray someone who is suffering from that health problem. (will be interviewed during the news cast)

Students will use our textbook as an initial resource for accurate information and then further research will be conducted using library materials and internet resources.
Students will record the news segment using a FlipCamera and then we will watch the videos in class. However the students also have the option of using our classroom big mouth puppets to deliver the news segment. Students enjoy using the puppets and for some students, they feel less intiminidated talking through the puppets.
Some type of media must be included in the news segment such as posters, powerpoint slides or even a short video downloaded from a reliable web site.
The project is graded using a teacher created rubric with an emphasis in factual information.
