Have the class brainstorm about places they would like to visit or learn more about. From this list, choose one location for each child. Could be in the United States, around the world, or even outer space.

Take photographs of the children in front of a white background. Use photoshop to cut them out of the white and save their images.

In computer lab, have the kids research their assigned location. They can pull images, learn about the cities, culture, and points of interest. Have them move their own image into one of their favorite location. They then take their research and use it to write a story about their visit to their location.

Combine their photo from their trip with their story of their trip to form a class travel book.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This touches on Geography, Writing, Research, and Technology. It can be expanded into Math and Science as well.
Follow-Up
The kids can present to the class about their trip. The book can be made and saved year to year in the school library.

Kids could use a video camera to make a documentary of their trip.
