OBJECTIVES: --Students will be able to handle, care for and use the digital cameras correctly. --Students will learn the basics of desktop publishing and formatting a document. --Students will be able to insert pictures into a document and resize them to fit correctly with the text. --Students will be able to print a double-sided document.
LESSON: Step 1: Introduce the project. Discuss with students the main idea of what the brochure is to be about.
Step 2: Students will do a rough draft design with paper and pencil to layout their brochure.
Step 3: Students make a list of the digital pictures that they need to take.
Step 4: Send students out in groups of 4 or 5 to collect their pictures. The rest of the students stay in and begin laying out their brochure on the computer using Microsoft Word and coming up with their text.
Step 5: When all of the students are finished taking pictures and laying out their design on the computer they insert their pictures into their document and type their text around their pictures. **Students much resize their pictures and make sure their brochure is neat.**
Step 6: Studnets use spell checker and finalize their project.
Step 7: Students then print their brochure and fold it. |
