Reader's Theater for 1st Grade

1. Choose a scholastic play. We use the early childhood plays with simple script and stick masks.
2. Let students draw and create the background scene on large butcher paper.
3. Allow students to practice the play for several days.
4. Perform and record the play.
5. Allow students to watch the video and discuss how they can improve their performance. (For example: Look at the audience more, speak louder, voice changes)
6. Perform play again making the improvements.
