Goal: to video students demonstrating positive behaviors in various settings throughout the school.

Settings:

1. Greet others at lockers.
2. Greeting the principal and support staff (lunch person, music teacher, speech therapist, etc.)
3. Greet classmates and teachers in own classroom.
4. Video appropriate way to get attention and ask a question (raise hand, look at teacher, ask question, respond using appropriate volume).
5. Video appropriate way to handle disappointment in different situations (ex: can't play outside due to rain, are not chosen to be first, cannot be the line leader, did not get to pick what game is being played).

Use:

Introduce video in stages and have students practice skills in small groups.

Allow students to watch the video during free choice time to reinforce skills.

This lesson plan is a great way to integrate typically developing peers and students with special needs by having the tdps display target skills. Or combine groups of students to create joint video projects.
