Comments
My Chemistry classes brings together about 35-38 students in each class from diverse backgrounds, many of whom are still enrolled in ESL classes. I recognize these diversity and I try to organize my course around thematic units that I hope will motivate and interest students by focusing on relevant issues to youngsters lives. I believe that cooperative group work using different forms of technology can help students from different ethnic groups recognize that they have things in common and can become one despite diversity.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
The activity will allow student to learn more about their cultures and others' cultures. Its' main goal is to develop sense of awareness and sense of appreciation to the different cultures in relation to Chemistry.
Follow-Up
The lesson will be highlighted by showcasing different cultures through power point presentations or film/video making.
