Summary: Assessment of identifying objects that are pushed and pulled found in our school environment, thus bringing the learning into our real world.
Essential Question: What causes objects to move differently under different circumstances?
Learning Objective: The student will investigate the effects of force on the movement of objects.
Standards: 1.Objects move in ways that can be observed, described, predicted, and measured. 2.Take a picture with a digital camera NETS-SIV.2 3. Load a picture to a computer from a digital camera and save it. NETS-S IV.2
Students will work in small groups using digital cameras to locate and capture examples of things we push or pull found in a school setting. Students may locate examples within parameters set by the teacher, such as staying within the building, playground, etc.
Students will then collect pictures and create a digital presentation with data collected demonstrating their understanding of concepts and standards. Each group will present their presentation.
**Extra adults might be needed for supervision of students if students are allowed to leave the building. |

Other projects could easily be adapted such as using the digital cameras to demonstrate an understanding of angles and geometric shapes in the real world. |

Students can sort photographs and create different types of graphs showing an understanding of graphing concepts. |
