School: Holly Springs High School, Holly Springs, NC
Planned By: Melissa Richer
Original Author: Melissa Richer, Holly Springs
Materials needed: List of items in Spanish, vocabulary notes, flip camera

Objective: Students will be able to correctly identify vocabulary words in Spanish and English. Students will also be able to pronounce the word correctly.

List of items:
el libro, el lapiz, la carpeta, el cuaderno, la computadora, la bandera, el cartel, el estudiante, la profesora, la biblioteca, la cafeteria, el gimnasio, la oficina, el mapa, la pantalla, el boligrafo, la silla, el escritorio, el reloj, el sacapuntas, el diccionario, la mochila

Students in groups of 2 or 3 will be given the list of items in Spanish. First they need to translate the list into English. Then they will be given 30 minutes to complete the scavenger hunt. They may use the entire school, and classroom. Points will be deducted for inappropriate behavior in the hallways ( I have spies!)

When the students come to an object on their list, they will record themselves with the item and say the item in Spanish and English.

We will review some of the recordings in class after everyone returns.

Recordings will be used by the ESL teacher to teach basic classroom and school related objects.
