Students will enter vocabulary words into Tagxedo. during Classroom Daily 5
Students will create a word search with their spelling words with Computer Teacher
Read "The Dot " in the Classroom
Read Ish with the Librarian
Students will watch DVD of The Dot (after students read). -in the Classroom
Students will create a Dot picture using tempura, paintbrush, and paper in the
Classroom
Students will learn about the author, Peter H. Reynolds and the artist, George
Seurat with the Librarian
Students will do a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the books Ish and Dot
with the Librarian
Students will create a Dot picture using Image Blender with the Computer Teacher Work will be hung in hallway to be shared.
Students will act out story and students will use Flip Camera to videotape. in the
Classroom
Computer teacher will take snapshots from the movie and create a sequencing project using PhotoStory.
Students will write a persuasive paragraph about how they can encourage a friend
to try when he thinks he cannot draw Clifford. -in the Classroom
Students will use digital camera to take dot pictures of each other
Teacher will put photos into a collage using Auto Collage and show students
All classroom and computer class work will be combined into PowerPoint to share
work.
Students will create a movie using MovieMaker. with Computer Teacher
Students will put the pictures from the play in sequential order using PhotoStory. with Computer Teacher

We had a great and fun experience collaborating with the 1st grade teachers, technology teacher,and librarian with this project. The students loved using the Flip Camera!
