Our School is a Safe Place

My second grade students will use digital cameras and Flip Video to identify all of the places that they feel safe and unsafe on our campus. They will also conduct interviews with students from other grade levels (k-6) to find out where other students feel safe and unsafe. After identifying all of the data collected in pictures, interviews, and on video, students will analyze the information and choose a location on campus to make safer. Students will work in collaborative groups to come up with a plan for making their chosen area safer, considering all information collected from interviews photos, and video clips, in their plan. Students will implement their plan. After implementation students will again conduct interviews, take pictures and video, and reflect upon the effectiveness of their plan.
