calendar skills

Objective: Students will be able to identify the calendar concepts such as month, day of the week, date, year, and more.

Materials: SMARTboard, media cart

Procedure: The teacher will hook up the SMARTboard interactive whiteboard to the laptop and projector. Then the teacher will introduce the lesson by going to

and the students will also play this game where they will drag and drop the day of the week in order http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/calendardemo/weekgame.htm you tube video about the months and reiterates the days of the week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJzCMdihQbM&feature=channel After that the students will put the months in order on this game: http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/calendardemo/monthgame.htm then the teacher will play this you tube video about the seasons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWF8Su78xik&NR=1 Students will match the name of the season to the picture located here http://www.playkidsgames.com/games/seasons/seasons.htm

Evaluation: Then the teacher will have the student individually go to the SMARTboard and input the information on this website: http://www.ictgames.com/dateChart.html .
