Summary Reviews Via Podcasting

Using podcasts provides students and teachers the opportunity to have an audience to present to that is outside of their own classroom. Students using podcasts may become more confident and have higher self esteem, knowing that their work is being heard by others.

For the purpose of this lesson, students will take to Podcasting at the end of each Science chapter. Students will be asked to teach/explain at least two things that they learned from the specific chapter. The students will then have the freedom to create their Podcast to their own liking. Whether it be a simple vocabulary word with a definition, or a complex explanation of something that was specifically learned, students have the freedom to create and explore the possibilities of what would make a good Podcast.

Once the students have completed their work, it will then be edited as needed, and posted for classmates, schoolmates, and people all around the world to hear. The great thing about the idea of Podcasts in the classroom is that the students get the opportunity to become the teacher, thereby empowering them to want to learn and obtain so much more information.
