Teacher must create a PowerPoint that gives information on family, school, likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses, and goals for the year. The PowerPoint should include clipart, scanned photos, and sound effects (optional). Teacher will also create a handout detailing the assignment , a checklist so students can check off the items the have or still need to incorporate, and supply a 4point rubric. Teachers model should include all the elements of a score of 4. Teacher must also plan computer lab schedule.

Day 1: Teacher presents PowerPoint and details the assignment, answering any questions and going through the rubric with students.

Day 2-5: Teacher should model how to add text to PowerPoint, save information, insert clipart, change designs and fonts, add pictures from files, how to run the PowerPoint show and click to move each slide, etc. Have students practice during a computer lab session.

Day 6-9: Students should use a graphic organizer to list information that they will type into their PowerPoint. Students need to bring a photograph(s) to scan during class time or computer lab time.

Day 10-12: Students should complete their PowerPoint Projects and use a teacher created checklist to see if they have each element necessary for a passing score.
