Guiding Question: How can you use vivid vocabulary to tell a story in 6 words?

Day 1: Find multiple pictures for students to observe. Create a Padlet for students to generate ideas for vocab and rich content about each picture.
Then, have students brainstorm ideas for taking their own pictures.
*Picture should reflect some aspect of the student's life*
Students can collaborate to take each other's pictures. Offer opportunities to go outside of the classroom to stage these photos.
Students begin to come up with ideas for their 6 word memoirs about planned pictures. Begin the 1st drafts.
Allow students time to take the picture that day, or allow time after school for picture.
-All students should have a picture by next day-

Day 2: All students will come to school with his/her picture.
Students will again generate vivid vocabulary about the picture. They will tell a short story (6 words) about themselves using the vivid vocabulary and picture.
Students will publish digitally on Adobe Spark.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This could be used for a math story, science, social studies, or any subject! Instead of a memoir, it could just be a caption that utilizes specific vocabulary.
