Teacher will explain the meaning and purpose of a Public Service Announcement: What is a Public Service Announcement? A short, to the point, video that presents a powerful lesson for a targeted audience. PSA’s aim to raise awareness or change public attitude about a social issue or topic.
Teacher and students will discuss a variety of ideas for Public Service Announcements to generate a list of potential topics. Then, students will use digital resources (Chromebook, flip cameras, slides, Wevideo, etc) to create a public service announcement
Question stems to generate conversation can include: What is an issue that affects a large amount of young people? Is there a topic that students are afraid to talk about, but affects many?
