The special education department at Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School would like to buy an interactive whiteboard for our amazing students!
Research states that students learn at a greater rate than those not using the whiteboards.
Interactive whiteboards:
encourages more varied, creative and seamless use of
teaching materials
engages students to a greater extent than conventional
whole-class teaching, increasing enjoyment and motivation
facilitates student participation through the ability to interact with materials or with a special pen.

Some of the ways that we can improve the delivery of instruction through the use of an interactive whiteboard are:
using web-based resources in whole-class teaching
showing video clips to help explain concepts
demonstrating a how to problem solve
presenting students’ work to the rest of the class
creating digital flipcharts
manipulating text and practicing handwriting
saving notes written on the board for future use
hands on learning and student collaboration

Recent budget cuts have made purchasing items such as interactive whiteboards difficult. The benefits to students, especially students with disabilities, are numerous. Please consider helping us fund this for our students!
