Project-based learning experience includes integrated learning of social issues, mathematical conjectures, and research skills. Video and podcasts are uploaded to Edmodo. Group inquiry and discussion are held in the on-line forum. This project includes various types of assessment. There is a pre-/post- survey to identify student technological abilities. Specific documents posted to Edmodo class pages provide an open forum for others to give immediate feedback (peer evaluations and acknowledgements). There are podcasts uploaded to Edmodo to be shared with peers that give insight into the student’s understanding of specific concepts. Student reflections provide portfolio entries indicating social, emotional, and academic growth.
Discussion posts have student-generated questions and response to identify strength and weakness of understanding concepts. The discussion posts, video blogs, and student survey results would be shared at the end of the project to provide colleagues ideas to integrate this approach in their own learning environment.
