...Or, join the team and help spread the word!

We, educators, have to prepare our students for their future, the 21st Century. We have to prepare them for the 24/7/365 connected, global economy that they are part of. We can integrate all many of the technologies that are part of our world in relevant and effective ways. My job is to figure out how to do just that. The use of 1:1 tablets in the classroom is one way to address this challenge. I have been involved in this process before and know that it promotes student engagement, class presentations and productivity in my classroom. I will have opportunity to offer immediate feedback more often, if not immediately, and it allows for all-class participation! Engagement, engagement, engagement!!

No more no more rifling through papers to find "the lost" one or the “I forgot it……..” Electronic files last forever, and both the students and myself can permanently retain all work and materials. Instead of trading stacks of papers with one we can exchange files. This can drastically reduce the amount of time spent grading paper materials, therefore, more time with kids or planning my next integrated assignment.

I can flip my classroom, which means that I can record lessons/assignments, they watch the lesson prior to class and come with questions, or parts of the assignments worked on. They, they come to class with their questions/understandings. This gives me more time to confer, discuss, or more hands on time. Another advantage is when a student is absent they come in, get their assigned tablet, put on their headphones, and hear and see the exact lesson/instructions the others received while they were absent. Or if a student doesn’t understand the lesson, again, they get their assigned tablet, put on their headphones and listen once more or repeat the instructions.
I believe in teaching my students for their future not for my past. Your donation will help integration of technology for Emmanuel Lutheran Fourth Grade students.
