Ironically when our school district decided to go virtual, they took all the computers out of the classroom. The students are expected to use the textbook website but most of them do not have their own electronics. Besides the textbooks there are many many uses for tablets in the classroom. The students are more engaged when you use electronics (I like to use QR codes for tests and scavenger hunts, kahoot, research, its endless. One of the biggest reasons I would love to have a set of tablets in the classroom is that over half of my students are special needs or ESOL students- (3 students do not speak English at all) Having a tablet to help translate the lesson or give them the lesson in their language would help them tremendously.
