The purpose of this fundraiser is to expand the access students have to computer science, especially traditionally under represented rural kids. Our kids are some of the best in Idaho! Lets give them every opportunity they need to pursue their dreams! A huge number of careers now require STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills, and robotics incorporates all those skills.

This school year, Wendell High School is offering for the first time, an Exploring Computer Science class. The emphases of this course are, "Inquiry, equity, and computer science principles."

The final unit in the curriculum is the culmination of all the other units of study coming together in a robotics investigation. The curriculum calls for the Lego Mindstorms kits. Our school budget was already set by the time this class was added, so these robots were not planned for.

This fundraiser is to purchase
- Four LEGO Mindstorms class packs (base set)
- Four science add-on class packs
- Four expansion sets
- Four simple and motorized mechanisms sets (+activity guide)
- Four pneumatic add-on sets.
- Pneumatics activity guide.
- Renewable energy activity guide.

The above list totals $2850. The rest of the money will go toward replacing broken or lost parts, or adding sensor bricks if a student wants to build a robot that needs additional functionality.
