This school year I am attempting to go completely paperless to conserve resources for both schools and students. That means all handouts, graphic organizers, student essays, and classwork will be completed via google classroom and other web based platforms. It also means students will create and keep digital interactive notebooks and journals as opposed to keeping physical ones. This change is in line with the San Francisco Unified School District's VISION 2025 big shift #7 "Blended Learning: All our schools will be equipped with technologies that support blended learning and increase personalization." Although our school has been equipped with more tech resources in the last couple of years it is still not enough. We have roughly 300 Macbooks/chromebooks for over 1,000 students. To have a dedicated class set of chromebooks for my class would be a tremendous aid in making the shift to paperless and building the 21st century skills my students need.
