Please help me get Chromebook computers into the hands of my needy English Language Arts students. The type of student I teach ranges from highly motivated Advanced Placement level to Special Education students who need a push to get them learning.

All of my students, however, need access to technology. Many of my students do not have computers in their households. Other students are more motivated to learn using computers.

Right now, I have to share a limited number of Chromebook carts (equipped with Chromebooks) with over a hundred teachers. When I have been able to use them, my students have been much more motivated to complete their assignments. My AP students worked in groups to write literary analysis paragraphs which they then posted on a classroom page. Their peers then read and commented on the paragraphs.

My not-so-motivated students in my non-honors classes came alive when they were able to work on their writing assignments on the Chromebooks. I got 100% participation from my often unmotivated students.

Finally, as the Lead Teacher of the Media, Arts, and Technology Academy, I want to set my classroom up to model how to integrate technology into a 21st Century Humanities classroom.
