We need ipads to program our robots for our robotics club. Programming allows us to tell stories through the robots point of view. My students can also program and code the robot to play songs that the students write to help them remember content. Also, we use ipads for digital storytelling. Students create their own storyboards of camera shots and film their movies to share with others. Digital storytelling is a value tool that allows students to express themselves by creatively and in an engaging way. Last, we use many apps on the ipad for creative writing. My students love the variety of ways they can write, illustrate, and narrate their stories. We are all the keepers of our own stories.

Classroom Description: I work at a virtual school in the Palm Springs Unified School District. My students attend class one day a week and work collaboratively in groups, focused on STEAM education. They also have the option of attending school another day to participate in elective classes such as art, engineering, and robotics. Students also work on digital storytelling after school.
