My Students
My classroom is filled with a variety of students who are eager to learn but require specialized instruction to succeed. I teach students with disabilities that include: Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavior Disorders, Other Health Impairments, Language Impairment, and Speech Impairments. Throughout the day, I provide instruction according to Common Core Standards as well as instruction in social skills, independent functioning, and communications skills.

My students have a unique understanding and acceptance of those who are different.
They welcome any new student with open arms. Since my classroom serves children that are not successful in a traditional classroom setting, I have new students join my classroom throughout the year. My class size typically doubles in size by the end of the school year.

My classroom encourages students to try their best. We understand that all children do not learn at the same rate. The most important thing in my classroom is that my students are learning in a safe environment.

My Project
Technology is an important part of our everyday life. It is important for students to learn how to use technology so that they can be successful in the future. Students can also access learning activities on the iPads.

My goal is to get one iPad for every 2 students in my classroom so that I can use the iPads to target learning as they rotate through centers.
My school district provides a variety of digital resources, but my students need iPads to access academic programs. Many students do not have access to the internet at home; therefore, their only opportunity to take advantage of these programs is at school.

Also, by having iPads, I can give students independent work so that I can work with students in small groups to target their academic needs. The keyboard makes it easier to use and the headphones allow multiple students to work without distractions or disturbing those around them.

Please help my students learn with iPads.
