Why I Teach: I am extremely passionate about teaching preschoolers with special needs. My classroom consists of children with autism, Down syndrome and other various developmental delays. It is truly rewarding to see these children learn and begin to talk. Most of my students are nonverbal and by providing them with various tools to communicate, they become excited about learning and proud of themselves! We work on labeling objects in our environment, answering simple yes/no questions, social greetings and much more. At the end of the day, I am tired but excited and proud at all the growth that is made on a daily basis!
