Help us create an outdoor environmental classroom for the entire Wauwatosa Community. We will be having our students involved in the exploration, observation, problem solving, and development of a new retention wall in the local river that runs along the Honeycreek Parkway. Our school frequents this parkway regularly throughout the year on our walking field trips. Milwaukee County will be working with FEMA to rebuild part of the parkway and water access. We will be working with the county to experience real life problem solving using real time activities. The county has agreed to help us construct an outdoor classroom on part of the land that is being renovated for very little cost to us (which we hope to have funded through grants and projects).

We seek to build a 21st Century environmental classroom. We want to create an innovative, outdoor environmental learning lab that best supports our students’ learning. We seek to develop the Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians of the future! This requires an outdoor learning environment that will be uniquely designed to meet the needs of Wauwatosa STEM’s teachers, students, and families. It will inspire students and the community to investigate and inquire the world around.
