The 5th grade at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School, in Bristol, Pennsylvania is asking for support in obtaining laptop computers for our classrooms. The goal is that technology is integrated across the curriculum to help deepen and enhance student learning. Technology is a tool that will help to support our curricular goals. It allows students to have access to a multitude of information, create technology-based projects, and connect them to the real world while teaching them 21st century skills. Each 5th grade classroom including the Special Education Learning Support classroom would have a set of 6 laptop computers that would be utilized during academic periods. Students are more actively engaged, collaborate more, and are motivated when they have access to technology.
The 5th grade consists of approximately 84 students. Our school is situated in the small town of Bristol Borough. Our students come from different economic backgrounds and deserve the opportunity to use technology in school.
What we need:
30 Dell Latitude Netbook 2120 - a student friendly laptop that has a durable rubberized case that protects it from getting damaged. The rubberized case is also ideal because it has an easy grip for smaller hands.
5 Hewlett-Packard Officejet 4620 - an all in one printer that would allow students to scan important documents or print their projects. Student laptops will be able to send document wirelessly.
