I am raising money to purchase an iPad for my classroom. My students have difficulty with expressing emotions in an appropriate way, recognizing emotions in others, socializing, and regulating their own behavior. The iPad offers a number of apps that assist and support my students in communicating and behaving appropriately in the general education environment, as well as out in the community. For some of my students the iPad also supports them academically with apps dedicated to writing, phonics, math fact practice, and ebook reading. I've seen great improvements in my students' behavior and academic progress since borrowing an iPad from my district's technology coordinator.
