Ticket to Read is an online reading program. Students take an assessment which determines the students' levels. Then, the students participate in the program at their specific level, engaging in phonics lessons, reading texts, and answering vocabulary and comprehension questions. Ticket to Read rewards students with virtual toys and decorations for their reading clubhouses. This program is very useful because my students can use it at school, at home, at the library, anywhere they can access the Internet. Ticket to Read also provides me, the teacher, with feedback, telling me the students' levels, what they are working on, and where they are struggling. I believe this program will be especially helpful in engaging struggling readers who tend to have few motivations to read outside the classroom.
