The sky really will be the limit for students enrolled in a new class at Liberty High School. Starting this fall, I will teach the SystemsGo Aeroscience course that will have students designing, building, and launching rockets up to one mile high. Since Liberty ISD is a small school district with a small tax base, our high school funds are limited. I am seeking funding to purchase 15 laptops so that students can utilize them to run for rocket simulation software, perform online research, and prepare powerpoint presentations for administrators and the community organizations. Our classroom computers are obsolete and will not run the simulation software or any new Windows applications. Any help will be greatly appreciated because the is a bold initiative by the district and high school. 80% of students that participate in this program become engineers or work in the aerospace industry. These young people are our future scientists who will fill the gaps in industry and scientific research.
