My classroom is in desperate need of updated technology. The kids love working on the iPad and iPods, but they are old and out of date. I can no longer update them or purchase new apps. That means the many accessibility features that make the iPad so useful in the classroom are unavailable to us. The new standards will require all of my students to be proficient in using technology to learn and show their knowledge. I would love enough iPads to use them in my small group instruction. I will be able to truly differentiate instruction. Students will get as much extra practice as they need. It will also provide us with instruments to learn music, canvases to create art, and cameras to create multimedia presentations. The possibilities are truly endless.
