Day 1
The lesson would start with a brainstorming session on what a bully is. I would record the statements from the children that describe a bully or bullying. We would formulate a class definition of bully and bullying.
I will record the information on the SMARTBoard, but chart paper could be used.
Next the children would hear the story, "Bullies Never Win." We would discuss the characters and decide who was the bully. We would discuss how the other characters handled the bully. We would discuss other possibilities to deal with the bully.

Day 2
I would tell the children that we were going to make a list of things that they saw or heard in their life that was bullying. I would record the situations the children shared with the class.

I would have the children work in groups of three or four students for the next part of the lesson. I would have each group think about a play they could create that would show one of the situations we recorded and a way that the other characters dealt with the bully. I would give them a list/rubric of things that I will be looking for in their play. Older students could help the groups write their plays if a written script is needed. The groups could make a backdrop and props of needed.
Day 3
The groups will perform their play and use a flip video camera to record their play.

Day 4
The plays will be viewed by the class. The class will decide if the character dealt with the bully the best way or come up with other ideas to deal with the bully. We would conclude with a list possible of ways to deal with bullies and post the list in our room.
