Objective: Students will use up-to-date resources to film, edit, and produce the daily schools news.
Materials needed:
Laptop with video production software installed Video Camera Tripod Microphones
Students will learn the importance of reporting the news accurately and quickly. Students will notify teachers and their peers of upcoming events, and reminders. The news will be completely student produced. I will be the facilitator along with a 6th grade teacher. Giving the students the opportunity to lead, collaborate and create will foster their need for digital media at school. The students will learn valuable skills that they can take with them into high school, college, and perhaps a career in the video production field one day.
Students will create and maintain a website where the news can be accessed by teachers, parents, and students. Students will also decide when announcements have lapsed. Each student will have the opportunity to complete different jobs on the set each week. |
