Digital Documentaries

Using flip-video cameras, student laptops, and special software, students will search for opportunities to create their own digital documentaries. Students will be required to write up a plan that will outline their documentary ideas. After approval, students will use current technologies available to script and produce a high-quality movie. Movie subjects can encompass every curriculum area and will be broadcast either school wide or to smaller groups. Students will work with local professionals to learn the art of video editing to ensure a quality end product.
We will create our own video library which can then be used by teachers to enhance classroom instruction.
Students would be encouraged to share their productions at local school board meetings. Movies may also be used for "Dinner and a Movie" night opened to parents and communities.
