Through the use of FLIP cameras, students will venture out of the classroom and tape a variety of segments to air on our daily school wide newscast that serves 600+ students. These segments include but are not limited to:
* Word of the Day where a student introduces the word of the day, gives the part of speech and definition, and uses the word in a sentenc.
* This Day in History where costumes or dramatic short skits are done to inform the students of important events in the world's history.
* Happy Birthday shoutouts where students send birthday wishes to their fellow peers and faculty members.
* Commericals for upcoming events like Powderpuff game, school store specials, pep rally contest, etc.
* Sporting events - shoot highlights of games to show on our school newscast and commentary from students to promote school spirit.
* Community Service - promote and highlight upcoming community service activies including The March of Dimes walk for babies, Relay for Life for Cancer research, Canned food drive to benefit the community, and Pink Day to support Breast Cancer awareness.
* Character Education - segments to inform students about issues facing teens such as a peer pressure, drinking, eating disorders, teen pregnancy, and texting while driving.

The use of FLIP cameras would be instrumental in providing our entire school with an informative, educational, and entertaining newscast. It would also provide the news staff with a medium to connect with their peers and teach them about the vast amount of technology available.

Thank you for your consideration.
