Congratulations! You have been hired by the Denver Zoo to design a new Bird’s of Prey Habitat. With this new display, the zoo hopes to increase the public’s interest in seeing animals in realistic habitats. So, let’s get to work!

Your mission is to design a new, realistic habitat for your Bird of Prey.
1) Using a project journal, record your research on your Bird of Prey’s natural habitat.
2) Plan your habitat/ and ad on graph paper.
3) Design an advertisement for the new habitat.
4) Using an online drawing program, draw and label your final habitat.

Your Advertisement must include:
1) Description of the new habitat including its features (remember you are “selling” the habitat!)
2) Reasons why the public should come view the new space.
3) Appropriate graphic of your bird of prey
4) Correct conventions/grammar.

Your habitat must represent your bird’s natural environment and include:
1) Trees/Plants that are native to the ecosystem your Bird of Prey Naturally lives
2) Water Features
3) Enrichment Activities
4) A way to produce the bird’s natural climate (Air conditioning, heater, humidifier, etc.)
5) Food sources/ feedings
6) A way for researchers to study the animals
7) Observation places for the public
8) Any other features that would help your bird feel comfortable and be well-cared for.
