What can I learn about myself and others

Most of my special needs kids have never even heard of an iPad. First, we introduce the technology and how to care for it. We create our seesaw acconuts and use an icon to identify ourselves. I then review and either accept or request a new icon for each student. We then choose how we are going to upload our personal statement. Some students choose to create a rap song telling me who they are. Some create art that expresses themselves. Some choose to just write it down, and some choose to find a photo. Don’t all learn the same way and the joy is that the assessment can also
be done in a variety of ways. Not everyone can write 10 paragraph essays.
Assessment also includes the interaction between students. They have to
comment on each other. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, this technology and lesson plan connects parents and families with their students. Seesaw is an app that students use to create their portfolios and their families can see what they are learning.
